Our partner for agricultural inputs along with others has built a new controlled-release fertilizer production plant in St. Thomas, Ontario. This plant will be able to create over 100,000 tonnes of a coated urea with a polymer to create a product called PurYield. “The project was launched in 2021, after Sollio Agriculture entered a joint venture with several of its cooperatives in Québec, its Agromart retail partners in Ontario and the Maritimes, and Pursell, a leading fertilizer technology manufacturer based in Alabama” (Sollio, Sept 18th, 2023).
