Visit with Stine Seed Company
Last week, our team traveled to Iowa for a comprehensive visit with Stine Seed Co., hosted by a few from their leadership team; Clint Bounds, Scott Wagner, and Dan Foster. The trip kicked off with a fascinating tour of the John Deere Des Moines Works facility, where we learned about the history of their operations and saw the entire process behind sprayer assembly. We also had the chance to view the first models of their cotton harvester and sprayer. The day concluded with a visit to the Stine Barn, where President Myron Stine shared the company’s core values, emphasizing the importance of customer relationships—values that closely align with those of our own organization.
The following day, we were given a detailed look at Stine Seed’s world-class breeding programs at the Stine Seed Farm. We observed their labor-intensive, hands-on research methods and saw the advanced equipment used for breeding corn and soybeans, including a massive 120-foot planter and a custom-built corn harvester. CEO Harry Stine wrapped up the trip by sharing his personal story of growing up on a farm and building the successful company. This trip provided invaluable insights into Stine Seed’s dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, which will help us communicate these values with confidence to our growers in Canada.
